Dr Amr Azim is a reproductive endocrinologist and a fertility specialist with special training in treating simple and complex fertility problems. His areas of expertise are assisted reproduction and preservation of fertility.
I am board certified in obstetrics & gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology & infertility.
I graduated with honors from Cairo University Medical School in 1991 and earned a master and doctoral degrees in reproductive sciences at The University of Cairo where I also completed a four-year obstetrics & gynecology residency. I then completed a second residency in obstetrics & gynecology at the New York Presbyterian hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College. Following residency, I completed a three-year fellowship in infertility and reproductive medicine & surgery at Cornell.
When you come to visit me I always feel it is my privilege to get to know you and assist in your family building steps. I am always available attend to you and your questions and to personally guide you in understanding your fertility issues and through every step of fertility treatment.
I have an extensive experience in IVF in women with low response to ovarian stimulation, PCOS, preservation of fertility including ovarian stimulation in estrogen sensitive cancers (e.g breast cancer), oocyte freezing and male factor infertility as well as endoscopic surgery.
My research interests include improving outcomes in women with diminished ovarian reserve, the effects of ovarian stimulation on breast cancer and methods of egg and ovarian tissue freezing. My research has been published in many leading journals as The Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and Fertility & Sterility. I lectured to physicians, nurses, genetic counselors and patients around the world on the subject of fertility preservation. I am also a reviewer for Fertility Sterility journal and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.
Dr Amr Azim is a fellow of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The American Society for Reproductive medicine and The Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
